Fight Night at the IMU
Big George Boxing proudly coaches the collegiate Hawkeye Boxing Club, and runs shows every fall semester to provide club athletes and high school boxers with local fight opportunities.
We usually have 13-15 bouts, with visiting boxers from Iowa State, University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, and from independent gyms across the Midwest.

White Belt Warriors
White Belt Warriors is a jiu-jitsu tournament series that we hosts every fall and spring semester to provide the athletes of the University of Iowa Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Club a local competition option.
The tournament is intentionally kept affordable, with a nogi, sub-only ruleset. Despite being only the fourth event, last fall we welcomed 60 competitors from more than seven gyms across three states.Â

Iowa Golden Gloves
The Iowa Golden Gloves is an nationally recognized, annual amateur boxing tournament series. Our promising young boxers won seven championship titles at last year's event.

U.S. National Championships
The Hawkeye Boxing team has a long history of wins at the national level. In 2023 all three of our boxers became All-Americans, bringing home medals after 1-2 years of training with George.
